Each year the City of San Mateo prepares an Annual Action Plan that identifies activities that are important to the San Mateo community and can be funded with federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Planning is taking place for a new five year Consolidated Plan for 2018-23 as well as the Action plan for 2018-19. CDBG has several eligible funding categories including public service grants to non-profit agencies, affordable housing, and community development activities.
We are asking the community to identify the highest priority needs in our city’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. You are part of that process and the Community Relations Commission would like to hear from you about what you think are the most important needs in the community. If you are unable to attend the Community Needs Workshop on November 18, please complete the online survey. The Commission will take feedback from the workshop on November 1 as well as the coming workshop on November 18 and all survey responses to identify priorities for funding in the coming years.
For more information, or if any issues arise with the survey, call the Neighborhood Improvement and Housing Division at 522-7229 or email sprowse@cityofsanmateo.org
